Hot tapping is the ability to safely tie into a pressurized system while it is on stream and under pressure. A typical hot tap installation consists of a tapping saddle, gate valve, and hot tapping machine. The hot tap cutter is advanced through the valve to the pipe.

Line Stops & Insertion Valves
Line stopping is a technique of isolating a water piping system to provide a shut-off where none exists. Line stopping bypasses and isolates specific sections of your water piping system for replacing or repairing hydrants, tying in new lines or services, and performing pipe repairs. The technique was introduced to the water industry in the 1980s.
Line stops utilize a fitting mounted to the host pipe. A line tap is made, and the stopping device is mounted and completes the flow-stopping procedure. The line stop temporarily stops flow to allow repairs or maintenance without disrupting service. Once work is completed, the fitting is sealed with a completion plug and flange. The fitting is left in place on the host pipe.

HYDROST Hydrostatic testing is the primary method used to test for leaks and assess the structural integrity of meter skids, compressed gas cylinders, boilers, tubing, pipelines, and other pressurized vessels. It’s performed by filling the system with water, pressurizing it up to a level greater than the Maximum Allowable Working Pressure (MAWP), and monitoring for visible and/or measurable leaks during a specified amount of time.
